Instructor Statement I would like to offer you a personal welcome! If you are serious about Python, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with my courses--which are all about getting real work done and exploring different facets of what Python programming is really all about. Things that you will not find in my courses include Python advocacy (e.g., being a fanboy), trivially useless examples from computer science (e.g., factorials and Fibonacci numbers), or extended coverage of programming features everyone already knows about (e.g., a 30-minute discussion of the if-statement). Instead, you're going to get a serious in-depth course that is practical and dense with information. More than 2500 man-hours of development and continual refinement have gone into my "Introduction to Python" course which has been taught at a wide variety of corporate and government locations. If you are familiar with my "Python Essential Reference" book, my goal is to bring the same attention to detail to a Python training course. My more advanced seminars and workshops have the same level of detail as is found in my well-received PyCON tutorials. However, they also take advantage of the small class format to provide more interaction and time for hands-on programming. Last, but not least, as an independent open-source software developer, I am accustomed to giving away software for free (for example, Swig and PLY). However, to support this activity, I write books and offer Python training classes. Thus, when you sign up for a class, you're not only going to get a great Python class, but you're directly supporting the continued development of free programming tools--something that is at the very heart of Python itself. Hopefully I'll see you in a future course! As always, please send email to "dave" at "dabeaz.com" if you want to drop me a line.
Sincerely, |
